Ask Joshua - Bedroom Furniture. Matchy-matchy or mix it up?

Ask Joshua - Bedroom Furniture. Matchy-matchy or mix it up?

Hi Joshua,

My husband and I are planning to give our master bedroom a makeover within a few months. We are debating about new furniture and what we should get. My husband suggested a matching furniture set for our master bedroom. I don’t like matchy-matchy furniture and am not thrilled with this idea. I wanted our master bedroom to be different and something that both of us will love. What are your thought on it?

Thank you,

Hi Lisa,

No, you don’t have to match your new furniture for your master bedroom. It is a great idea to mix the furniture to make it a unique and special space for both of you while not going too eclectic to make your husband happy. For your situation - I’d recommend selecting furniture that is in the same color or style but not of a matching set. I included an example of how you can mix furniture in the same color or style and still be stylish. I think both of you would be happy with this direction for your master bedroom.

Good luck,

Joshua
