Aug 17 Ask Joshua - Where Can I find Stylish Flush Mount Ceiling Light?

Hi Joshua,

We recently moved into a house that was built in the late 70’s and still has the original ugly glass square flush mount lights everywhere. I really hate these light fixtures. I have no idea where to find stylish flush mounts since I am new to this whole thing since it is our first place of our own. We’re not ready to do any renovating, but these lights are driving me crazy and I think it’s something we can handle on our own to replace. I’ve tried to find nice looking ones but haven’t had much luck. Can you please help? I’d say our style is eclectic but the color scheme for our new house will be blush/pink, gold, white, gray, and maple.

Thanks for writing and asking for help finding some stylish ceiling lights. For those that maybe didn’t know already, ceiling lights that don’t hang down and stay close to the ceiling and installation point are generally called “flush mount”. I totally get what you mean about those ugly original glass square flush mounts - I’m not a fan of these light fixtures either and have lived in plenty of apartments that had them or variations of them.
