Ask Joshua - Help with changed bathroom design!

Hi Joshua,

Thank you for answering my January 22nd question and posting. It was regarding countertop color with natural knotting alder. Well, lol, since then I change the cabinets in the the bathroom to a Black wood cabinets... I still have the square white sink and black modern sink fixtures....So now I'm not sure what to do?? Yikes I didn't realize making these decisions when building that you can easily change your mind!
Help any suggestions for a modern industrial bathroom wish?
Thank you again!!!

Hi Lori,

It’s not uncommon to change your mind about certain colors, pieces, or materials during the design or remodel process. With your knotty alderwood cabinets now being painted black, you can still go with a white countertop of course. White will always work with any color scheme and be timeless. I’d recommend a marble or a manufactured quartz with some veining. My other suggestion would be something a bit more bold; a chalky dark gray. An example is depicted in the picture above, which noted is a more on the industrial side of the spectrum; however it shows how the colors and materials work together. A matte, dark gray, with a little chalky or subtle veining in it can give a great moody vibe to the room instead of most stone materials that will be more reflective.

I hope this is helpful and perhaps gives you some inspiration. Good luck on the build!

Warmly,

Joshua Jones
